From a distance, Western Salsify looks like a giant puff ball, but get a little closer and the weed takes on a more cosmic appearance. The weed, commonly referred to as goat’s-beard, can be found in hay fields or like this one along roadsides.
Crews work late last week to maintain the flow of concrete as it is poured to form the top terminal footer for the new Christie Peak Express high-speed chair lift at the Steamboat Ski Area. Construction on the new six-passenger lift will continue throughout the summer.
