The Flat Top 4-H Club met April 15 with Yampa Fire District for a safety demonstration. The club learned about fire extinguishers and how to use them. After a presentation at the elementary school, the kids walked over to the fire station to use the skills that they learned on a real fire. March real estate closings passed $141.79 million, making it the busiest single month in Routt County history. The first quarter of the year is typically the slowest for the local market in terms of closings, but the first quarter of 2007 reached an unprecedented $317 million, up about 30 percent from last year.
