Break-in nets petty cash

As much as $200 stolen from auto shop in nighttime burglary

A break-in Wednesday night left one local auto business with a few hundred dollars less in the till. Penny Burch, manager of Doc’s Auto Clinic on Copper Ridge Drive, walked into the business at about 7 a.m. Thursday and discovered the door open and the cash drawer missing.

ACET drug case headed for trial

Preliminary hearing held Thursday in last of 3 arrests

The case of Jorge Orduno-Acuna will go to trial after a lengthy preliminary hearing Thursday, but not before several charges were dropped or amended. Orduno-Acuna initially faced 10 criminal charges stemming from an All Crimes Enforcement Team drug investigation and raid on an apartment in Creekside Court on Aug. 31.

Jim Lindley, one of the survivors of the Nov. 7 shooting at the Sandbar in West Vail, is still in the intensive care unit at the Denver Health hospital but is showing signs of progress this week, family members said.

Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of vandalism for a man who reported that his wife damaged his entertainment center and possibly stole some electronics. The matter is part of an ongoing divorce.

Jorge Orduno-Acuna was prepared to go through a preliminary hearing on drug charges Friday, but the prosecutor’s mother reportedly suffered a sudden illness early that morning, and the case was postponed.

Craig woman gets 60 days in jail for attempted theft

Craig woman Lori Wagner on Friday pleaded guilty to attempted theft and criminal mischief after she was accused of stealing more than $30,000 from a Steamboat Springs real estate company.
