After a counterfeit $50 bill was passed at a Steamboat Springs convenience store in October, Steamboat Springs police Detective Jerry Stabile said it’s important for business owners to know how to spot the difference between real and fake bills.

Police arrested a 37-year-old Steamboat Springs woman on suspicion of violation of a restraining order and harassment.

12:47 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers, Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a report of domestic violence in Steamboat Springs. Officers arrested a 33-year-old Steamboat Springs man on suspicion of harassment related to domestic violence, criminal mischief, prohibited use of weapons and obstruction of telephone service after a nearly four-hour standoff on Laurel Lane.
