The power was out for three hours in Oak Creek on Aug. 7. I wonder why the generator that we paid a large amount of money for was not turned on. Also, why was no one concerned enough to see that the people on oxygen were contacted to see if they had enough portable tanks? I know the fire department has extra tanks, but none were offered. Thank God we all had enough.

The Steamboat Springs City Council concluded five months of Triple Crown contract negotiations Tuesday night when it voted, 4-2, to bring the national youth baseball tournaments back to Steamboat for at least one more year, and possibly two.

12:05 a.m. Routt County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a complaint about a vehicle in Clark, where deputies found a car stuck in a ditch on a private road. The driver was arrested and taken to the hospital for a blood test.
