Peter Perhac has been selected as chief executive officer of the Colorado Mountain College’s Alpine Campus in Steamboat Springs, beating out three other finalists for the position.
Perhac is currently the campus executive officer for the Fairfield/Travis Campus of Chapman University in Fairfield, Calif.
CMC President Stan Jensen said he was excited to have Perhac begin work in December. “I am confident that with his leadership skills, he will help us in our pursuit of becoming the first choice for higher education and the first choice for partnerships within the communities we serve,” Jensen said in a news release announcing the hire.
The hire came after weeks of deliberations by the selection committee and included input from students, faculty, staff and community members.
The opening was created when Kerry Hart left the role, formerly called dean, to become president of Morgan Community College in Fort Morgan.
