Spots open in South Routt Tai Chi class

Aging Well’s Tai Chi for arthritis class has spots remaining in Yampa. The free class is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Yampa Town Hall and continues through June 24. The slow, graceful movements of Tai Chi may provide relief from some symptoms of arthritis. For more information or to register for the class, call the Aging Well Hotline at 871-7676.

Community Youth Corps extends deadline to apply

Spots still are available for service this summer with the Community Youth Corps, which includes work on community projects such as trail building and maintenance, landscaping, fence construction and more. Ten two-work sessions are available for 14- to 16-year-olds. One week is spent working in town and the other is spent camping and working in the backcountry. Sessions start June 2 and end August 15. The pay is $7.52 per hour. Applications are available at the city’s Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department, 245 Howelsen Parkway, or on the Web at www.steamboat-springs.net/rec. Call Brooke Lightner at 879-4300 ext. 355, or e-mail blightner@steamboatsprings.net.
