Steamboat briefs for May 5

The Fairway Face-Off Golf Tournament, a benefit for the Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association, is June 2 at Catamount Ranch & Club. The format is a four-person scramble. A $175 a player fee includes golf, lunch and an awesome goodie bag. Check-in is at 11 a.m. with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Awards and silent auction will follow the golf.

The Steamboat Springs School Board will discuss proposed curriculum for an all-day kindergarten program for the 2008-09 school year at its meeting tonight. The conversation is part of an effort to determine staffing needs and potential tuition costs to accommodate the 110 families who have expressed interest in the program.
