Planners to review Clock Tower Square project

The Steamboat Springs Planning Commission meets at 6 p.m. at Centennial Hall, 124 10th St., to review projects including a pre-application for a mixed-use development at the base of Steamboat Ski Area. The development is proposed for a nearly four-acre site impacting Clock Tower Square, the Ski Time Square parking garage, Xanadu condominiums and former Octagon sites. The Planning Commission also is scheduled to review a final development plan for additions to Yampa Valley Medical Center totaling more than 10,000 square feet, and community development codes regarding vacation home rentals and base area design standards. Call city offices at 879-2060 for more information.

Penguin Plunge seeks plungers, sponsors

The fifth annual Penguin Plunge is seeking plungers and sponsors for the Saturday fundraiser sponsored by the Healthcare Foundation for the Yampa Valley. The cold-water plunge will raise funds to purchase a high-tech monitor for the benefit of patients in Yampa Valley Medical Center’s emergency department and intensive care unit.

Penguins are asked to raise a minimum of $100 and may either form a team or be assigned to an existing team. Business sponsors are welcome.

All donations to the nonprofit, non-tax-supported Yampa Valley Medical Center and its foundation are tax-deductible. For a Penguin Plunge information packet, contact the foundation at 871-0700 or e-mail penguinplunge@yvmc.org.
