A whole new ride
I was walking through the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant last weekend when I was waved over by a bachelorette party. The bride-to-be was required, by tradition, to get a picture touching a man's biceps, and I was the lucky guy. While I do proudly lay claim to many fine qualities the table's women might enjoy - I'm darn good at trivia, have a fine set of calves and intoxicating blue eyes - bulging biceps aren't among my features.

Best of the Web for July 20
We shouldn't generalize. Any damage can be eliminated by eco-friendly use. All users should clean up after themselves. Anglers should try not to leave behind fishing line, tubers and shore folk should clean up garbage, parents should keep their kids from catching and handling fish, dog owners should pick up after pets. Basically, just leave the river as it was before you got there. Smart use won't hurt the environment ... ignorance and neglect does.
Conservative commentary: Econ pre-101

Several of us blanched openly and I blurted out something to the effect of: "I beg your pardon! What about the Hitler/Stalin pact of 1939?"
