Winter Park to open top-to-bottom skiing Friday

Winter Park — Winter Park Resort has received more than 19 inches of snow since Thanksgiving Day, and the resort will open 32 acres of new terrain and two chairlifts at noon Friday.
The Zephyr Express and Eskimo Express are the two additional lifts that will open Friday. The Arrow, Gemini, Discovery and Endeavor chairlifts already are operating. The Spirit and Meteor surface lifts are also operating in Sorensen Park, Winter Park Resort's beginner area.
The popular intermediate trail, Cranmer, also will open at noon Friday. This is in addition to the already open Lower Hughes, Larry Sale, Bill Wilson's Way, Porcupine, Parkway and Lower Village Way. Sorensen Park and Mt. Maury are open for beginners.
Forecasts show that Winter Park Resort could receive another half foot of snow this week.
Additional terrain will be added as conditions allow.
Winter Park is operated by Intrawest, the parent company of the Steamboat Ski Area. Rocky Mountain Ultimate Passholders can ski Winter Park and Copper Mountain as part of their Steamboat skiing priveleges.
The Steamboat Ski Area also plans expanded terrain openings Friday, including use of the gondola and Burgess Creek chairlift.
