With a foot of new snow on the slopes, Steamboat Ski Area officials said 34 trails over 356 acres will be open for skiing and riding Friday, when the gondola and Burgess Creek lifts will open along with Thunderhead Food Court.

The Barrows chairlift will not be in use. Final terrain decisions will be made according to the weather. The slopes will be open this season from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and 3 to 8 p.m. on weekdays.
