Why replace the heads of models with those of moose? Because it’s funny.

That was Moose Mountain Trading Co. owner Jennifer Wilson’s thinking for her advertising campaign.

The concept was recognized on page 83 in the May issue of Entrepreneur Magazine as an example of using humor in marketing.

“It’s really gratifying,” Wilson said. “It’s such a simple concept and fitting for the store. And, it’s out of the box.”

The article can also be found on the magazine’s Web site, www.entrepreneur.com.

Wilson said the magazine contacted her, and reporter Gwen Moran interviewed her twice.

Wilson said the marketing campaign was inspired by the teachings of destination business consultant Jon Schallert.
