Steamboat Briefs for July 2

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Tonja Cowan reported two vehicle crashes Sunday. The first occurred at about 8:30 a.m. on Colorado Highway 131, near turnoffs for Routt County Road 14. A southbound driver crossed the center line and collided with a northbound driver, Cowan said. The southbound driver was cited for careless driving and transported to Yampa Valley Medical Center with minor injuries. The northbound driver was not hurt.

Recall effort moves forward

The group working on a recall of Steamboat Springs School Board member John DeVincentis says it has about 2,300 signatures, nearly 400 more than needed to put the recall on November's ballot.
