Birch appointed to sit on health care task force

Sue Birch, executive director of Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, has been appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter to sit on the Blue Ribbon Commission for Healthcare Reform — Rural Advisory Task Force. During its 2006 legislative session, the Colorado General Assembly passed Senate Bill 208, establishing the Blue Ribbon Commission for Healthcare Reform. The Commission’s purpose is to study and establish healthcare reform models that expand healthcare coverage and decrease healthcare costs for Colorado residents. The Task Force provides focused input to the Commission on proposals selected for evaluation. Birch will participate in task force activities until the final report is delivered to the General Assembly on Jan. 31, 2008. Residents with comments or concerns should contact Birch at 879-1632 or sbirch@nwcovna.org.
