I had almost forgotten I owned one. Cleaning out the back of my vehicle, I pulled the rusting machete out along with the remnants of summer days long gone - cam straps, headlamps, a bed roll, even my fake Bubba teeth.

Sound Off for Nov. 26

This is about the community center. Is the City Council stalling on this project or does it just appear so. And Scott Stanford was off the mark with the editorial on Sunday. Scott if you had been here longer you might appreciate how important and how vital the seniors have been to Steamboat. Hopefully, you will be a senior one day, and will appreciate respect.

Steve Hitchcock: Efficient approach

We are so fortunate. Our community, through various entities, has the ability to consider, simultaneously, a new school, additions and improvements to other schools, significant improvements to Health and Rec, a new county justice center, a new city recreation center, a new public library and a new community center.

Shining brightly in the southern sky as darkness falls is one of autumn's few bright stars, a blue gem named Fomalhaut (pronounced foam-a-low). In fact, the name Fomalhaut comes from the Arabic words meaning "the mouth of the fish."

Bill May: Cowboy orders a bride

Tales from the Ranch

When I was a kid, I guess I wasn't any different than other kids of that day and age. I was enamored by cowboys. Oh, sure, there were plenty of "hands" that worked for Dad, but you know how it is, the ones from "across the fence" are always more glamorous. And, when I think back on it, I do believe that all of the cowboys of that period were more glamorous than any of the ones nowadays.
