Dish: The Roast Beef Garlic Melt
Cost: $5.99
Where: Wired Internet Café in Ski Time Square
What's in it: Roast beef, garlic bread, mozzarella cheese and thousand-island dressing on French bread
The low down: There is something about garlic that I can't get off my mind. Perhaps it's the aftertaste. Either way, combining roast beef and garlic for a sandwich was an eye-catcher when I saw it on the menu board.
It's a surprisingly simple sandwich but has a big taste. Plus, it only took a few minutes to make, so when you're on the run for a quick sandwich, this is a good idea. Just remember the breath mints.
Wired may be a little-known destination to some people. It's located just below Lupo's and Levelz; all three businesses are owned by Chad Gagliano. The café is part Internet café, part coffee shop, part sandwich place and -- when the sun goes town -- part martini bar.
