Library helps with Food for Fines program During December, children with overdue fines at Bud Werner Memorial Library can "pay off" their fines while helping families in need by participating in the library's Food for Fines Program. For every item of nonperishable food children bring in to the library, the library will cancel about $1 of their overdue fines. All food will be donated to LIFT-UP Food Bank. The program is only open to those ages 18 and younger.

Production of Hayden documentary begins
An Australian-accented cameraman with a large, high-tech digital video camera was outside Hayden upper school building when classes ended at 3 p.m. Friday, filming and questioning students at random. The presence of the camera made some shy away, but most students acted as though it was their big chance to be on national television.

Thursday, Dec. 4 8:20 a.m. A robbery was reported in the 1800 block of Ski Time Square Drive. Items worth more than $6,500 in retail reportedly were stolen. The incident is under investigation.
