Description: ➤ West African Dance and Drum Festival, featuring Pan Africa, presented by the Steamboat Springs African Dance & Drum Ensemble
➤ 2 to 8:45 p.m. Monday and Tuesday
➤ Steinberg Pavilion, Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp, 40755 Routt County Road 36
➤ $15 per class, $12 per class if you take three or more
➤ Jennie Lay at 736-0425 (call ahead to borrow drums for the djembe classes)
Dance festival schedule of classes:
Monday
2 to 3 p.m. — Kids’ West African dance class with Djeneba Sako and Pan Africa
5:30 to 7 p.m. — West African djembe class with Pan Africa’s drummers
7:15 to 8:45 p.m. — Ghana dance class with Maputo Mensah
After the classes — Potluck dinner and soak at Strawberry Park Hot Springs
Tuesday
2 to 3 p.m. — Kids’ West African dance class with Djeneba Sako and Pan Africa
3:30 to 5 p.m. — Guinea dance class with Fara Tolno
5:30 to 7 p.m. — West African djembe class with Pan Africa’s drummers
7:15 to 8:45 p.m. — Mali dance class with Djeneba Sako
